I've seen many references to a trim removal tool. Can you share what tool you use and if you like it? Best tool to buy? Or are they all pretty much the same? Thanks for your help.

I think I got mine from Advanced Auto Parts. Set of 6 different pieces. Mostly find the simple straight stick the most common choice.

Funny story, a friend of mine that worked in a bike shop would always grab these plastic pieces anytime he'd see one in the grocery store. It's the part of the milk jug handle that usually gets punched out at factory, but sometimes one will get past. He liked using them to mount and dismount bicycle tires from rims because the plastic is rigid, but flexible, and gentle enough to keep from scratching anything. I'm sure it would work equally well on prying plastic trim pieces .

The trim tools from Harbor Freight work fine. If you are doing trim removal all of the time then I would go elsewhere. As for Jeeps, they seem to have an overabundance of door panel clips. So just make sure where those clips are when you remove the panel. That way you don't break where the panel holds in the clip.

I find myself using this aircraft skin prybar more often than I use my nylon trim tools. It is finished as smooth as silk with rounded edges. It works the same as nylon tools but has more strength. It can be used to pry things over, up, down all with absolutely no marring of the objects.

They cost a bit more but will last a lifetime.

Harbor freight and I recommend some automotive wet sanding sand paper to smooth some of the rougher edges.
