The rechargable battery tool systems abound. I had to pick a system a couple years ago. I went with Milwaukee. Got one of the "mid" torque impacts first. It'll loosen a lug nut on my truck or Jeep that's at 140 lbs/ft. So it was fine for about a couple years. Then one day, I put a charged battery on it and pull the trigger and it sparks and starts smoking. I disconnected the battery and tried again. Same thing. So, I take it to one of the few national repair stations, that happens to be about 40 mins from my house. They have it for a month and I finally get it back and it's $160 or some such cost to fix it. It was never abused or dropped. Just a flaw that manifested in a problem. Meanwile, I bought another one and a stubby lighter duty one. Both Milwaukee.
I don't think Milwaukee is any better than DeWalt or Mikita. Just pick one that gives you options for other tools you like too.
