First post.
In a couple days I'll be trading in my 2019 JLU for a 2015. Besides all the aftermarket accessories that I have added over the years which I've take off, the Jeep Mopar trailer hitch tow package remains. That was added at the dealership when the 2019 was new. I pull a small Kendon motorcycle trailer on occasion and also use a solo motorcycle carries for my dual-sport/dirt bikes from time-to-time. But I want to take it off and put it on the new '25. With the exception of some pretty tough bolts to lose-up (rust and such) taking the four (4) bolts that hold the hitch on was pretty simple.

But I am unsure if the harness is just part of the Jeep and the dealers install the adapter at the hitch end or I should remove everything? Anyone install or de-install one of these factory trailer light harness's.
It is NOT aftermarket like Quadratec or other aftermarket vendor. It is Jeep/Mopar.

This (below) was easy enough to do:

But there is no way I can thread this trailer hitch wiring adapter thru the underside of the Wrangler. There is a connector on the back but have not figured out how to detach it, yet?

Are you asking how to remove the harness as in item B or the clips as in item C?
If B here’s an answer from @Rhinebeck01 in post#4

It is (my question) pretty much "B". But wondering if these JL's (they were called JLU's back in 2019) have their towing harness already installed from the factory and it's just the dealer who installs the adapter?
And (earlier question) it's a 2019 JL to a 2025 JL. Not much has really changed. The standard 4 door Soccer Mom Wrangler.

The connector can be a bugger to remove but as long as you pull on the connector and not the wires you shouldnt be able to break anything. You’re right, the JL unlimited or JLU is a 4 door and JL usually means a 2 door except for vendors or others making life confusing. As for pre-installed wiring I don’t know the answer to that.

Sorry guys, I never got back about this post.
Typo, traded on my 2019 JL for a 2025 JL (not a 2015).
And loving it. These Soccer Mom JL's (I've alway had 2 door stick-shifts) Jeeps keep getting better, loving it. Like a luxury car to me.
I did find out that the MOPAR harness is NOT part of the JL's. It was added by the dealer in 2019. It's a short harness to the inside hump on the passenger-side rear. The aftermarket harness's you see on Quadratec run from the rear all the way to the battery. So I'd suggest anyone installing... just buy the factory version and it plugs in nicely to the the factory harness.

It was difficult to take out because its original installation was done so well. But it also showed me how to re-install from the '19 to the '25. Took about an hour+. The factory hitch itself took about 20 minutes.
For those that don't mind spending a short time under their Jeep on their back, the Dealer wanted $700.00 just to move the harness only from the '19 to the "25. So ridiculous.

You can see the factory adapter connectors on this very short harness. Just a matter of weaving it a bit into the underside rear of the JL. No different than the way it was run on my '19 JL.

You can see it just to the left of the now swapped and installed hitch as well.
Good to go!

I want to buy this kind of OEM harness to add it to my 2025 JL Unlimited Sahara....I guess the aftermarket options require a run all the way to the battery and the OEM connects to factory connectors, right? What's the right part number I'm looking for?
Tnx

OK, I found the answer. I guess I'm looking for 82216359AA and this still requires a run up to the battery. Any install tips appreciated.

I installed this harness, which does indeed require a single red wire run from the aft end of the vehicle to the battery. If the harness that you choose requires the same, perhaps studying the instructions here, in advance of performing the work, might prove helpful.
