Towing Basics...

I have a Sport S JLU with factory towing package.

I'm planning on towing a travel trailer weighing 3,400lbs (which is within limit, or well within limit depending on where in the world the laws dictate)

Do i need to put a trailer brake or any other changes to my Jeep to make this happen. I'm trying it out for a weekend to see if I want to buy a travel trailer or buy a class C.

Any tips on towing with the JLU?

I would recommend a weight distribution hitch setup. I pull a travel trailer with a gross weighting of 3500 no problem. Yes you will need a trailer brake controller.

You will need an electric brake controller. If you have the factory tow package the wiring is likely in place under the dash. IIRC it is a blue wire that goes through the factory 7-pin plug to power the brakes.
