Touch Screen Unresponsive

Finished a baseball game this morning, got in the Jeep to come home and the touchscreen didn’t respond to any touch anywhere. Started the podcast I was listening to with the phone, played.
Turned of the radio, back on, unresponsive.
Turned off the screen, would not come back on by touch, would by hitting the screen off button again. Still unresponsive.
Turned off the Jeep, opened the door, waited 30 seconds, restarted. Unresponsive.
Restarted podcast and started drive home, stopped for a 6 pack and zyn, out of Jeep 5 minutes. Restarted, everything works fine.
Hoping it never happens again, but…
Jeep was sitting in the sun but not that hot (70 outside), not sure if that was a cause. Interior was cooler when I stopped.
When it came back, fully functional.
‘24 Rubicon XR with the big screen.
Any similar experiences or ideas?

Yeah, it happened to me once and just like you it recovered on his own hasn’t happened again
I’ve heard that if you do a battery disconnect, everything reboot and it’s fine

If it did not come back on, battery disconnect was gonna be my next move. I DO NOT want a trip to the dealership to have my dash opened for surgery.

odd, 6 months absolutely no issues until today, 24 rubi. touchscreen stopped working, 2 hour drive, dead, radio worked, all hard wired switches worked, steering wheel channel change and volume worked. Waiting overnight to be worried.

Software update maybe?

Our '23 infotainment was acting weird on Friday for seemingly no reason but is perfectly fine today. I suspect an OTA software update was pushed out.

It did this once 2 years ago as well and the dealership confirmed it was an in-progress OTA software update.

These things happen from time to time. Don’t panic, as it’s like that for most vehicles with touchscreens.

2020 Rubicon, Android Auto was cutting in and out. Apps were slow to work, then nothing. Next day everything was fine, no more issues.

Glad these are not fully bricking.

exactly what i was looking for. My wife looked oddly at me while i was driving and holding various combinations of buttons to get it to reset. Waiting for update, wife is out in jeep today.

Yes, this is much simpler than what I do in my F-150.

Overnight, fixed itself.

Sure be nice if instead of an add they put a notice stating update in progress.
