Has anyone else had this happen? When I removed my top the other day, the cart was rolling weird. Looked down and found that one wheel is split and coming apart, another is starting.

I keep this thing inside my shop, never sits out in the weather. Those who have one, check the wheels on your’s. This could result in an unexpected wheel lockup and your top falling off the cart.

@TopLift Pros, how much is a set of replacement casters, and is there an updated part that doesn’t do this?

Just checked mine they seem fine, I would call Top Lift. That said these type of wheels are easy to swap at most hardware stores. I am actually planning to swap the wheels with something larger so I can navigate the gap between my driveway hardtop and the concrete lip of the garage. Good luck….that stinks.

Maybe I’ll just cut those black skins off and see if they are still useable.

Same exact thing happened to mine. I took the black covers off so it doesn't roll like a busted wallmart shopping cart, but it still doesn't roll near as smooth as before.

I was kind of afraid of that. It’s going to be a trick to roll it back to the Jeep to put the top back on. I can’t work on it with the top on the cart.

I just checked mine. All of the wheels are worn and scuffed up, but none have split yet. I'll definitely keep an eye on them after reading this. Wonder if there's a way to replace them with a rollerblade type of wheel that has a nice bearing and rolls even smoother than the originals.

Has anyone made the swap out on these casters? Mine fell apart and I'd like to put new one on without the hassle of trial and error.

Thanks!

My temporary solution was to remove the black plastic "tires" from the green plastic wheel. It works okay. The casters will eventually be replaced, as the bolt pattern to mount them is common.
