Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
Im sure my trail tools and home garage tools are minimal compared to some, but I keep duplIcates. I don’t like digging through bags and tool rolls in the garage because I’m lazy. I would love to see trail tool load outs with pics and lists from people like you and @wibornz who do remote multi-day trips but I know it’s a big ask.
I will take some pics or a video for you. Give me a couple days.... I can do just about anything to my Jeep while 4000 miles from home.

I say a couple days as I currently have stuff everywhere as I am putting on new coil springs. In the mourning.

That would be awesome! Thank you!

When I had to replace my engine, I needed to pack up some tools to take with me to my friend's warehouse where I did the swap. It was another prodding to get my "Go bag" organized. I ended up getting a bunch of those red Milwaukee zipper bags. Klein and other makers have similar bags. Basically, I put 1/4" drive ratchets and sockets in one, 3/8" drive stuff in another and so on. My combination end wrench sets are Tekton and came with roll pouches. My 3/8" standard and deep socket sets came on bars that my wife sewed up a special roll pouch for. All of these are marked with contents and they go into a larger bag. My "Go bag" can get pretty heavy.

Thank you 👍🏻
I must admit it’s a PITA when you close a drawer and everything shifts around. Being OCD has its pros and cons 😂
When I look at a drawer like that it makes me want to just mess it all up. 🤪

I gain even more space and organization with 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" socket holders. I get rows of them in one drawer and they are also magnetic on the bottom so they don't shift around.

It’s not the sockets that’s the problem for me, it’s the wrenches and screwdrivers. Eventually I’d like to get some foam that I can burn out in the correct size and shape of my tools but holy cow that’s a lot of work. I wonder if there’s a company that could 3d print mats instead of cutting individually.

Screwdrivers should be in a drilled out still plate on the wall by size and type. The drawer is a problem.

Screwdrivers should be wherever I feel them necessary to be. There’s no right or wrong way to organize a toolbox. I’ve had my screwdrivers dangling through holes on my old snap on box and hated it.

I hate them rolling around in the bottom of a tool box or drawer. I like them in order by siz and type.

You guys are sick. I am NEVER showing my wife how organized you are. She'd nag me to do the same. (I use the pile method of organization. Yes, I know where everything is...or ought to be. ;-) )

When you get so old and forgetful that you cant find shit (or even remember what tools you have) if you don’t put them back in exactly the same spot you’ll get it. I spent most of my life digging through piles of rusty tools. Don’t be fooled by the pics. Plenty of my life is disorganized.
