I guess I am going to call it good. I monitored temps the entire time we were out this afternoon. It didn't go above 220 til we were on our way back and it was 92 degrees outside. So guess we can say its normal.

I did think I heard a rattle at low speed acceleration though. Guess sometime when it isn't hot Ill have to see if something is loose that would rattle. May be a moving at those speeds though as I sat in the drive and held the brakes while revving the engine. No noise then.

Thank you all for the advise on this.

These temps are with the AC off. I generally dont turn it on unless it gets 86+ outside. And even then its not on if the top and doors are off like they are right now.
Maybe not it, but I just realized yesterday that even with the A/C button completely off, if I'm in "auto" HVAC mode, the A/C was still kicking on without lighting up the dash button (absolutely asinine design, imo).

Iirc, my coolant temps are usually around 200F, but today they were hitting 222F at idle like your wife's. Once I turned the HVAC off completely, they dropped back down to normal. Also v6 and outside temp was ~90F.

Probably not the problem, but just a thought.

OP, I live in a climate even hotter than yours, and yet I don't have these temp issues.

I have also travelled the world, including your neck of the woods, and I can attest that Florida is notorious for humid thriving flying critters, that "coat" the inside of radiator fins.

Do yourself a favour, even if you think it is not required, and rinse out your radiator, spraying high pressure water, from the rear, towards the front.

If anything, this should be part of a regular maintenance regimen?.

Personally, if I was in your shoes, after rinsing it, if I STILL saw no change in temps, I would then look into FLUSHING the entire coolant system out, in case of casting sand inside of the block, and in the heater core. Early Pentastars, circa 2013, were known for this, so this might be a longshot, since one would be tempted to think, that mothership solved all casting sand issues, but I would still do it.

Sadly, this forum is extremely lacking on info, on coolant flush procedures with this type of newer 3.6L engine.

When in those temps, I assume you had your AC on correct?
