What size tire with 4.88 would equate the same performance (more or less) with 37's and 5.38 gears?

37 x 4.88 ÷ 5.38 = 33.56

Factor in a little wiggle room for lighter weight so maybe 34s. And, of course, 37s aren't actually 37" in diameter so that can change things. But 33s or 34s with 4.88 would be close.

TY...I was thinking that 33's would be pretty close. Rubicon take-offs should do it.

the website i used to determine what gears to go with my tire size. Select all options that apply in the drop-down menus and out in your current gear ratio and tire size then play with the ratios and tire sizes.

The chart shows 34 as being closest
As I said, that does not appear to be a JL chart with an 8 speed. The RPMs are too high even for my current setup; it is likely a JK chart with a 5 speed auto.

This is a generic chart for the math challenged. Disregard the value of RPM except for comparison. Your question was not about RPM it was tire size. It answers your question. If you want accurate RPM, multiply by your final drive ratio regardless of JL,JT,JK,TJ or even F150.
If the RPM for a given Axle ratio/ tire size combination is similar to another combination, the vehicle speed will be similar.

I am comparing--my current setup (tire size and gearing) and the chart is not even close so I fail to see how this could be used to determine a reasonable comparison. RPMs/Tire Size/Gear Ratio go hand in hand.

Maybe I am just missing something...
