Any update on this? I have the same issue, sensors are reading correct psi but the idiot light is on. I’m thinking of getting a Tazer but I did pay for the TPMS sensors to be installed on my aftermarket wheels, and they are working, so it would be nice to keep it on. The Tazer completely disables the system. Any luck with using the Tazer to turn it off and then back on, with lower thresholds?I’m running 36# with aftermarket sensors on 315/70R17’s and all pressures are reading but idiot light is on, local shop scanned all the sensors and they are reading but idiot light is like the demon in the closet and won’t go out, they advised the sensors may not be playing nice with whatever they send the signal to, Taser is in the mail and when it comes in my thought is to turn it off and then back on and see if it resets and will also lower the alarm limits down
Tazer lets you adjust the threshold within the limits of the system.Any update on this? I have the same issue, sensors are reading correct psi but the idiot light is on. If I recall correctly the system needs to see a certain amount of change and then you can back off a bit after the light goes off.Any update on this? I had them up to around 41psi with no luck, put them back to 36psi, list still won’t shut off. Will disconnecting the battery assist in any way or will it just kick back on?If I recall correctly the system needs to see a certain amount of change and then you can back off a bit after the light goes off.
Correct, but my tires are reading within the limit. Check out the photo.Tazer lets you adjust the threshold within the limits of the system.
I think that may be the best option. Also, I think you may be right that the wheels could be out far enough to cause an error (—19 offset). I’ve never seen any issues with it reading an accurate tire pressure though, it more just bothers me that I can’t figure out the issue why the dummy light is on.I sold off my Tazer months ago and after replacing the TPMS sensors with a different set I have only had an occasional issue with the light going on, my guess is the position of the aftermarket sensors in my method wheels pushes the sensors out to far from the receivers and they lose their mind sometimes, TBH if I still had the Tazer I would just turn TPMS completely off and not worry about it.
I’m not sure. I’d be in the same boat it sounds like. Worst case, turn off TPMS I guess.I had them up to around 41psi with no luck, put them back to 36psi, list still won’t shut off. Will disconnecting the battery assist in any way or will it just kick back on?
Thanks. Just ordered the Tazer. Will try lowering the threshold and if that doesn’t help, so long TPMS.I’m not sure. I’d be in the same boat it sounds like. Worst case, turn off TPMS I guess.
This is absolutely false info and sad it came from a dealer. The spare has nothing to do with it. The spare does have a TPMS that is asleep as it is not spinning. Until it gets put in the rotation then the TPMS will pick it up. When you move the and are trying to reset your TPMS it is a good idea to leave the spare off, go drive around and get the sensors all oriented and reading. Then you can go put the spare back on. If you drive around without a spare it makes ZERO difference as the system doesn’t even recognize the spare as it is not rotating. The TPMS machine has an option when you are scanning TPMS for four or five but that is to just check them and has nothing to do with the light etc.Just an update in case someone else had the same situation as me (TPMS working but idiot is on). My issue was determined to be caused by the fact that I’m not running a spare tire with my aftermarket wheel/tire setup. When you program the aftermarket ones, after scanning all 4, it asks to scan the spare. Being that the JL has a self learn system, when it doesn’t see the spare it throws on the idiot light. Dealership said there is no way to change the configuration to only look for the 4 tires, thus I either leave the system on and deal with the light or just use my Tazer and shut if off. Hope this helps others with the same issue.
So what do you suggest I do to correct the issue? All of the sensors still read just fine, I just can’t get that damn light to go off. This is absolutely false info and sad it came from a dealer. Well here is your situation and I have the same. The TPMS is not strong enough of a signal to turn the light off but it is capturing 'occasionally" the PSI. That is why the PSI is accurate but the system thinks your TPMS is bad because it isn't getting the signal on every tire rotation. So what do you suggest I do to correct the issue? All of the sensors still read just fine, I just can’t get that damn light to go off.
