Tire Chalk Test

Just had 285/70 Wildpeaks Load Range C put on JLUS. Place aired up to 36psi. Started doing the chalk test. The pic below is at 32 psi. Should I continue to go lower?

I’d leave it. As the temp lowers, your psi will too. Looks like it’s hitting all the tread from the pic.

Are those the mt’s? I used to run those for 60,000 miles. And still had tread left. The sweet spot for me with those was 36. Each set can be a little different but just my experience with those.

I would definitely go lower, the outside tread blocks are not really hitting the pavement evenly with the center. I believe there's no real "generic" value for everyone (32psi is a good start), each of us has a different rig with weight and stance. I'm running 27psi cold on 37" Ridge Grapplers (JLUR) and did a chalk test to get to that value. Also did an alignment and I'm getting even wear (no feathering etc) and IMO great handling, haha certainly better than the 38psi that was put in the last time I was at the "place".

I have the same tires on the OEM rims. I run 36 psi and at 25,000 miles they are wearing even.

Absolutely go lower, a third of your tread isn't touching pavement.
