Inherent engine eating issues for sounding bad on cold start is a trade off most should be willing to take.
Inherent engine eating is a bit of a stretch. Even the theory that they will all eventually have a rocker failure is not supported by fact. There are far more 3.6Ls on the road than there are 3.6Ls with the rocker failure. They would have changed the design by now if it was remotely the problem it's made out to be on this forum. My gladiator came with an unlimited power train warranty and $12k off msrp last year as they were already facing slow sales. How on earth would they stay in business offering an engine guaranteed to fail with a 60k mile warranty let alone a lifetime one? I think the 2.0L is the better engine from a power standpoint, but the 3.6L is a proven reliable design with a proven track record regardless of a handful of rocker failures that get blown out of proportion.

Usually by making you need to service the vehicle there and buy all their flushes and shit to make up for it and then denying the warranty when you dont.

Can you clarify then what you meant about the reality of the tradeoff being different than just sounding bad on a cold start?
Already provided sources. Far more clarification there than I could ever give.

So don't get a warranty that does that. Get a better one.

Chain tensioner, coolant leaks - both of which I mentioned, with coolant leaks being a wash because both engines are susceptible between the 3.6's head and the reservoir and pipe bolts that didn't get loctited on the 2.0 for a year or three. The only one that's unique to the 2.0 out of that pair is the chain tensioner.

Some rando oil leaks, but I'd call that a wash with the 3.6's oil filter housing that leaks oil and coolant when the seals or housing fail.

So... looking like the reality is OP would potentially inherit fewer serious issues. No cam/valvetrain issues. Same potential overheating issues (whether due to head/gasket failures like on the 3.6 or whatever, same result for both).

Allow me to translate: you linked the subforum but did not know the actual contents and told us to read it, indicating you had not read it but were telling us we should.

Well I suppose since you "call it" a wash...then it must be so Rem. I guess all the 2.0's issues are solved!!!

No I know the contents. Obviously better than you. kramer as usual has no idea what he's talking about.

It's like for like. Overheating causing head warpage and thus failure is the same whether it's due to coolant loss from an external bolt (2.0) or from a head and gasket that don't seal well (3.6).
