About 1.5 hours is my limit on the highway when doorless. I leave it in the safari setup from May to October. I hate the sun beating on me.

Possibly I'm inured to the wind and noise from years on two wheels, but driving sans doors (which for me means the top is also lowered) isn't nearly as gloom & doom as might be imagined. Granted, I tend to use B roads when I'm able, which have lower average speeds and considerably less oncoming traffic.
James, as a fellow PA resident I'm curious - have you ever had any undue attention from law enforcement while running doorless?

I've been doing this for 15 years and a few hundred-thousand miles. I've passed literally hundreds of Leo's, both municipal and state, and have never even noticed a 2nd glance.

This is why 1/2 doors exist.

Not yet, but I am clear headed regarding the risk of a ~$100 citation if I am lit up. :) The language in PA's Vehicle Code is plain.

There is a related bill in our Legislature that, if signed into law, would allow us to join the other 49 states. Fingers crossed ?.

Hey, in the past few years we have legalized weed, automatic knives and grocery store beer - so optimism is certainly warranted.

Can not imagine a thread like this back in the TJ days of the Wrangler or older. Wow.

Is the wind buffering worse in the JL‘s? Never had a problem with it in my JK.

Give it a chance. The ability to remove the doors is the only reason I've owned Wranglers. With very little exception I'm doors off and in safari mode May through October. Blast the heat (heated seats and steering wheel included) when it's chilly and crank up the AC when it's hot. For reference, my Wrangler is my DD, and my daily commute is 25 minutes each way - at least half of which is interstate highway driving.

Putting the doors back on as winter approaches each year is by far the saddest day of the year for me.
Do you use a cab cover when it's parked or overnight to keep elements out? If so, which one? I'm eyeing the Rain Gear cover but curious as to how well it keeps out rain. If it does well, then I would go doorless more.

I use the Rain Gear cover that can be put over the soft top. I love it. I've used several other, cheaper models, but the RG cover is way easier to deploy and is much better quality.

However, I only use a cover if it's going to rain.
