@JeepCares
Today has been absolutely terrible.
I drive my dream jeep, literally.
22 4XE wrangler high altitude
On my way to work, stopped at gas station. Tried to start JEEP and nothing. All these random errors were coming up like Check fuel cap andCharging system service, engine service and a blindspot error with some symbols lighting up. The only thing I could think to do was check fuses and everything was fine.
odd thing is the screen never turns on unless the JEEP is on, nor does my dash but the dash and screen were on and I couldn't get them off. Jeep didn't make a noise at all when trying to start... like it was totally dead, couldn't get into neutral either....no previous issues or warnings of any kind I Work 12 hour shifts and headed home about 9 PM last night with no issue. today I spent the majority of the day at a gas station waiting on a tow truck that showed up 3 1/2 hours later. I tried hitting the assistance button in the Jeep, and it wouldn't work, and thankfully the JEEP employee that sold it to me helped me out and sent me a link.

Once at JEEP the tow truck guy called me to let me know he had arrived and needed someone to come out so if I could get in touch with them. I tried calling JEEP multiple times, when I tried to leave a message it would hang up on me completely. absolute nightmare. Not being able to get a person on the phone at all is extremely frustrating.
As if this wasn't enough, I was then told there are no rentals at all... I was under the understanding that for any service needs there would be rentals available no problem..(that was before I signed) so then I'm told they will have it minimal 48 hours because they don't perform service on the weekends??? I'm not going to lie I'm pretty peeved, considering one of my main reasons for going with JEEP is because of the care package and service.
Here's my dilemma. I have a wedding in my backyard in less than two weeks with
zero way of getting around or anyway of driving to and from work which I have to do twice a day because I own two dobies that feed at lunch. I have a high stress, job in healthcare working 12+ hours a day.
So the service technician tells me that no one is really trained. These are just too new, at this point they have no idea what it could be... and i'm sitting here thinking I paid how much for this jeep omg. I don't understand why JEEP would release vehicles without training people and making sure every dealership that sells these vehicles knows how to work on them. I have had zero issues for the year and a half that I've owned this Jeep, but I am a female that prefers not to be stranded in awful parts of town at random, by herself, and after reading these forums, I am extremely concerned that I won't see my vehicle for quite some time considering what's been going on with many others.

The amount of crApI'm going to get for encouraging people to buy one of these hybrids. I've gone on and on about the benefits and the top-notch service, so much so two of my staff members now drive one. The humiliation I felt watching that JEEP Being lifted up on a tow truck.??? I understand needing more time to figure out the issue, but no rentals available either? Are you serious? This could not have happened at a worse time. Just typing this, my blood pressure is through the roof The stress right before this wedding of not having a vehicle and being able to finish everything, My husband is a fire engineer that works out of town so his vehicle is with him, We do not have a spare car. My family lives in Nevada and I in Ca it's not as easy as asking someone to borrow a car, and I would assume that JEEP does not intend on paying for Ubers everywhere but I will most certainly be expected to make that jeep payment?

Jeep-less and stranded for the weekend like ????‍♀????, i'm going to be dead meat when this soon to be bride finds out my situation. I'm Sorry I never post things online like this. I never leave bad reviews or vent or whatever that's not who I am. I am speaking out of frustration. My apologies. Really hoping someone at jeep can pull through on this for me. I believe in miracles ??

That sucks guy. We rented a 2018 Sahara for our wedding, and it broke on our way to the courthouse. Somehow got it home, and took out reliable Subaru Forester to the courthouse instead. Had time to spare thankfully.

Still bought my EcoDiesel 6months later... What can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment! :CWL: :giggle:

Yeah, 4XEs are good in very select situations! It's NOT a drivetrain which will last very long. Good for a couple years, then you should sell it.

I think Wranglers are having lots of issues from the factory lately. Probably has something to do with with this strike, who knows! Quality control's been slacking!! :CWL:

Welcome to the world of awful Jeep service. The service you can expect from Jeep is far worse than any other manufacturer out there. To add fuel to the fire, Jeep seems unable to master the 12volt charging system of their standard line, and the 4xE line has got to be far worse. The Jeep brand is no longer what it once was, and sadly this will probably be my last.
I would call around to other dealers in the area to see if they have any techs familiar with the 4xE (Its not THAT new, your dealer sounds even more inept than the norm which is bad enough)

I am sorry you are having this experience also. My last JK was so simple and an amazing owner experience. My new JL was almost double the price and has been an absolute nightmare.
I also work 10+ hours a day. Jeep refuses to give me a loner car for multiple breakdowns now.
The service departments in CT have tried to refuse a tow in for a breakdown? How can dealers refuse a broken down brand new car? Then they are rude and say it’s going to sit for weeks before they look at it.
I joined looking for advice on how to get a buy back or replacement car. At this point I’d take a cash out settlement for the 15-20k I’ll lose on a trade in for a 4Runner.
im honestly most upset at the service. Even the management is rude. The advisors are rude and basically useless.

Here’s hoping it’s something simple and you get it back soon. With Jeeps less complex is typically better.

Gawd. I am at a loss for words. What an awful experience and situation.

I can only hope you are able to find a way forward.

Good luck.

Can't tell you..shhh
Not sure about the 4Xe, but this sounds a lot like the issues people have when their 12v battery is shot. Yours is old enough that the OEM 12v battery is probably bad, or at least on the way out. Hopefully it is something that simple and they can get you on your way. You may also have a bad DC/DC charger. I read on some other posts about the 4Xe that if your 12v battery goes dead it won't let the HV battery relays work so the jeep won't run. It can also cause the "Christmas Tree" effect with your dash lights.

Another uninformed opinion from someone with zero 4xe experience.

How is that fuel pump recall working out so far? Your EGR system still EGRing?

OP, you’re likely suffering from a common Jeep malady. A replacement of the 12v battery with a quality unit (not oem) has solved many problems similar to your own.

Yeah if you were led to believe you were buying a quality, reliable vehicle, you were quite misled. The Wrangler is a lot of things, but high quality and reliable are not in that list.

On the other hand, the absolute garbage pile of a company that builds it, that's a different thing altogether. FCA views the Jeep brand as a money fountain and nothing more. They care nothing about ownership experience or customer relations...those are all unnecessary costs.

If you only have one vehicle and it's such a massive hardship for you to be without it, I have to recommend you trade the Wrangler for something you can depend on. These JL's are best as an extra vehicle or for people who have alternative modes of transportation available to them.

I'm going to echo bad battery. When this happened to me (400 miles from home if it makes you feel better) the lock out was a reset of the HV Isolation Circuit after the replacement of the battery.

The Christmas tree effect is the battery. The no start is the HV Isolation fault that has to specifically be reset.

After ready about these issues, I vahnged out by battery earlie and now have it on my callander to do the change every 18 months. It may seem overkill but better than being stranded and towed in for a reset.

May be overkill, but waiting and relying on a dealer is much more costly. Dead in KY, no local dealer would fit me in for a reset for a week!!

Replacing the batteries every 18 months is overkill.

The OE batteries are indeed garbage. But once you get rid of them with a decent aftermarket brand, you should be good at least three years.

So, yes, that absolutely sucks and nobody wants the stress of dealing with a vehicle out of service. I feel sorry it happened to you in what is probably a highly stressful moment; husband out of town, wedding in two weeks, no extra vehicles and family not around to help, etc.

You'll probably need to rent a vehicle at your own expense until this gets sorted out. Be persistent with the dealer and Jeep's corporate customer service.

A lot of dealers don't keep full service hours on the weekends, and they do have other customers waiting in similar situations such as yours. I'm not defending them, but it is, unfortunately, reality. You might do well to take a few deep breaths, take control of the situation from your end, try to relax. This stuff happens, it just does.

How is it possible that after SEVEN model years, Jeep dealers are still acting like deer in the headlights...?!?
