Perhaps whoever is responsible for that gate arm should pay for your damages. There should be some sort of sensor that detects when a vehicle clears the gate. It may have one that malfunctioned.
Looks like spare tire area is not trigger their sensor. To be fair this is the second time I saw that gate hit a car.

Sounds like a gate malfunction from here. With that said, don’t stop under the darn thing.

I removed my brake light after installing a behind the wheel light. The top plastic portion of light is attached with 4 screws, very easy to remove. And I would assume you just need to buy that part instead of the entire tire carrier.

I'd even send you mine if you pay for shipping. I imagine it's not dirt cheap to ship due to size, but still probably cheaper than sourcing a new replacement.

The broken arm breaks your brake light.

Hi laroo, thank you but I already made up my mind to pay a visit to the dealership, since my vehicle also got a error code which I would want them to check.I'm a little worried about the harness for the brake light, since it was pulled off pretty hard. Although it works now, I'm not sure if the connection is secure or not so that I think it would be best to have dealers replaced that too.
