Well…that didn’t last long. After having engine #1 die due to a serpentine belt break, and engine #2 lasted all of a month, engine #3 was put in Jan ‘24. I know have 30k miles on engine #3 and i just got an engine light on. Again. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Code P000A. Cam 1 this time. It’s headed to the dealership Monday morning so we’ll see where this saga goes this time.

Purely statistically that’s crazy unlikely what you’ve experienced. Almost makes me wonder if something else’s is going on with the vehicle. Maybe lemon it and get a different one?

It is crazy. But last engine was brand new. And they also replaced all components attached to the engine to avoid any metal fragments possibly contaminating it. I doubt they’d lemon it at this point. It has 141k miles on it (total miles on jeep. This engine is only 30k miles)

I walked away from Jeep for 20 years after the second engine in my still-newish YJ began to fail not very long after it was installed as a warranty replacement unit.

Good luck to the OP. Were that me, I'd probably divest and walk away. Again. 😐

We've had some seriously bad luck with our reman engines. This isn't at all surprising. Hell, we had a reman shipped to us that was locked up right out of the crate.
Oh wow. That sucks!!! Both of these were brand new engines.

I totally get you doing that!! After the last fail plenty of people were telling me to just walk away. But I absolutely love my jeep. This one. If I walk away I won’t be getting another one. We’ll see where this is headed for this engine. I have a dealer appt Monday. Thankfully it’s still under warranty.

I'd be investigating a hemi swap but I guess it's still under warranty. Guess I need to buy that extended warranty from grainger
