I wanted to say thanks to all the members for all the information on here, as I've stalked the forums quiet a bit while I was trying to decide what I wanted, and it was all super helpful.

My first Jeep was my dad's 1987 CJ-7 (V8, manual). It was my daily driver when I was in high school, and even thought it wasn't always the most practical vehicle, I absolutely loved it - horrible gas milage, death wobble, noisy AF soft top that was only marginally water resistant, max speed of 60mph and all. I got a 2001 Xterra as a high hooligans graduation gift, and it has been my main vehicle since. Dad sold the CJ and replaced it with a 97 Wrangle (I4, manual) that I got to borrow from time to time when I needed a Jeep fix. The Xterra has been good to me, but its been having more issues, and its milage wasnt anything to brag about either, so when the 4xe was announced I was intrigued. I spent lots of time here reading about the 4xe tech specifically, but also the various options/builds. Originally I was leaning Rubi because I enjoy off reading, but if I'm being honest with myself, I get on moderate trails a few times a year, and the vast majority of the driving I do is on pavement, so when a 23 Sahara in the right color and for a good price came along, I jumped at it.

I've been very happy with it so far, and the major plans at the moment are related to tops/doors - hard top hoist, half doors, and a soft top. Long term I may well end up doing axle swaps, but my X only ever had an LSD in the rear, and the one time I got it stuck it was a clearance issue, not a traction issue. Plus I liked that the LSD was always active, so I may just see if I can go down that road with the Jeep too.

Looking forward to being part of the Jeep community again, and lots of conversation here!
