I see you said H to no on stacking tires or whatever that is called! :CWL:
Definitely said no :CWL: But I’m also rubbing a bit. Hoping the CavFab inners fix that.

JL is about ready. Split my fenders, reworked my spare for max departure angle, built a cooler rack, and trimmed my pinch seams this weekend. Jeep is ready minus t case fluid check and oil
Change/ filters change. Worked on my son’s JK a bit today.

So, where are you off to? The jeep's looking good BTY!
Looks like you'll miss the weather. Passing well to the north.

I'm heading out to Northwest OHV on Monday. Planning on getting there early so that I can head home early too.

That being said, not against the idea of going to Barnwell or Crossbar if there's other people there. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: TURNS OUT CROSSBAR IS ONLY ONE OPEN ON MONDAY. SO CROSSBAR IT IS! Only a 2-hour drive from me, not bad!

Holy crap. I completely forgot to update. What an amazing trip. Completely unreal. The rubicon lived up to its name. Denied on little sluice (which is misleading.). Denied on Soup Bowl (had rear locker issues and aired down way too low.). 5000 miles round trip. Some amazing views like Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Vegas, Rubicon, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite.

JL did great. Not completely sold on the Falkens. Dirty Lifes instantly turned into diced up rock rings. @CavFab_mfg sliders took a major beating and dented up on both sides. Only major damage was not paying attention on Cadillac Hill and running the passenger front fender into a rock wall. Just fixed it last week. Also need to take it into the shop. Have a bit of a hum coming from the rear end and might need an alignment.

next trip is planned for November 9 weekend to Hidden Falls or K2.

Went to Big Bend 03/14-17/2025 on a solo trip. I met some great people along the way. I saw some beautiful scenery and got to hit a great deal of BBNP, before they close the Chisos campground area.

Friday I rolled out at 330 AM and was at the park entrance at around noon time. I arrived at Panther Junction and asked the park rangers for any possible camping spots for Saturday night as I had nowhere to stay. I lucked out and got a spot at Camp Chilicotal, and this spot proved to be one of my absolute favorite times out there. I headed out to the Hot Springs then to see the Boquillas Canyon and Rio Grande overlooks. Friday night camped in my jeep st Rio Grande Village.

Saturday morning headed to Boquillas MX and had a great guide through the town. Found a Catholic Church, saw the locals first hand (amazing to survive with minimal amenities in such a remote place), rode a donkey, had lunch at Boquillas restaurant (amazing food with some tequila and cheaper than Falcon’s), and had a tequila shot at the bar. Once I crossed back over around 1 pm, I hit River Road East to make my way to Black Gap Road then up to my camping spot at Camp Chilicotal. This whole drive took me 6 hours. Desolate, alone (ran into maybe 4 vehicles), and took in the awesome scenery. Camp Chilicotal really was in the middle of nowhere. This place was perfect and again slept in my jeep. I must have seen 2 other cars the whole evening. Stargazing was unbelievable.

Sunday, hit the road by 4 am to make it to the Lost Mine trailhead. Hiked it to make the sunrise view. Absolutely stunning. Then made my way to Balanced Rock followed by Window Trail. I camped that evening in my jeep at Chisos campground, made my first official meal to include a ribeye, cactus with Oaxaca cheese, and diced potatoes.

Monday I headed up to Santa Elena Canyon, took pictures and headed out thru Old Mavericks road to hit Terelingua for fuel and lunch (Panther Junction was out of fuel.). I had lunch at High Sierra then hit the road home for a 9.5 hour drive.

I can’t say enough things about this place. I hope to make it back again one day. It was sort of a last minute trip as I really wanted to do the Chisos campground area trails due to their upcoming 2 year closure. I hit everything on my bucket list for this trip and more.

thanks to @shane h. @SadRobot and @ObiMatt87 for their input on Shane’s BB trip report thread.

@72Blazer what flag kit are you using. I was looking for something and didn't get it done before our BB trip.

Found it on Amazon with a flag on it. Read reviews that they broke with anything about 15 mph. There were a few times I drove 40/45 for prolonged periods of time. It looked like any second it was going to snap. But it held up the whole trip.

This threw me and I thought you were posting from the future. 🤣

Looks like you had a great time. Any signs of bears in the back country? I had originally planned to camp at one of the back country campgrounds but seeing how remote they were I didn't want to run into a bear alone.
