I have finally received my "click to order" email, I do not plan to do any more upgrades to my Alpine system, are replacing these at $250 worth it or save ,my $$ for a better mod. Thoughts?

Do you already have the upgraded Alpine audio? It was only a slight improvement for me when I upgraded to the Terra Acoustic front speakers from my upgraded Alpine system. Most likely would have spent the $250 towards something else if I were to do it again.

RETIRED!
I rec'd mine a few days ago. I honestly can't tell much difference in sound quality if any. The right side speaker grille does sit down tight against the dash either.

If I knew before what I know now, I would have saved the $$. But they are installed so I'm just going to leave them for now.

I have the Alpine system and just by adding discreet tweeters, the Terra Acoustics kit really improved the sound to my ears. Maybe it's not an insane improvement, but it addressed one of my biggest complaints about the factory system (the other being it needs a separate sub level control, better factory tuning and a better EQ).

Fit and finish of the product was decent enough I suppose, but the grilles could've sat flusher against the dash and I'm still a little irked that one of my pretty tweeter rings has a tiny blemish right in front of my face. To be fair, the owner did offer to make things right, but I honestly expected a bit better quality from a $250 pair of speakers.

Anyway, having used even pricier Focal coaxials with outboard crossovers as my fronts in a previous vehicle, I'm really not sure if you'll achieve the same sound quality and imaging improvement going that route versus having true separate tweeters and mid components in that particular spot. Really depends on what you're wanting to hear differently compared to your existing system.

Imo, while this solution is a bit overpriced, it's exactly how the factory Alpine premium system should've shipped from the factory.

I had the alpine and bought the terra acoustics. My right speaker grill doesn't sit right either. They asked me for a review, I have had them for a couple of years now. I told them that they may not want my review based on fitment, so they sent me a new grill. It is the same . not sitting all the way down.

anyway, I cant really hear a difference. Yes there is a little tweeter and a mid? I guess. I got them when I was 50, so Maybe I cant discern the difference. Who knows.

Would not buy again

I also declined to send them a review because of that poor fitting grille. I'm a decade or so older than you, so maybe that's why I can't really hear any difference in the sound. The golden years aren't all that great!

Though I haven't heard them, I've heard a lot of different speakers in the last 30 years of being in the audio business. $250 will go a long way toward a great sounding set of speakers that will fit under the grill. Or use that money to buy something that'll help you out in the long run.

I enjoy mine. I've got the upgrades audio. You'll need to EQ for them since they need more power but they do balance out the terrible mids and highs that the factory alpine system is sorely lacking.

I thought the terra acoustics made a big difference, they made it obvious how anemic the alpine system was and inspired me to replace the speakers in the sound bar with 6" speakers as well.

I like mine. I will no say its an earth shattering change but they do sound better. Im 50 and can tell a difference.

Agree..I would love to have a sub level control. It's frustrating to have to turn the bass way down so it's not booming at low volume levels and then when you turn it up on a good song, the bass is almost non existent. I'm close to ripping it all out and starting over. I am on the list for these Terra's so this post is of interest. The bass at low level and lack of highs is really my only complaints. The older I get the the more sensitive to bass I get. I have a major system in my boat and love the 4 zone individual or "all" volume control.

My system is completely aftermarket which includes the Terra Acoustics. I think they sound great. They were an improvement over the Kenwood’s that I had previously installed.

They have a 30 day guarantee to return. I used mine. Not worth the money.
