TC Issue in Snow

Noticed this twice now in my 2.0T JLUR XR. TC seems to cut almost all power from a dig in moderate snow. I‘m at a stop sign and it limps until I hit the TC button. Not mashing the throttle or doing anything crazy.

Anyone else observe this phenomenon? Not complaining. Just curious about the nanny shit.

The traction control will do that whenever there is wheel slip. Mine is off 100% of the time thanks to the tazer. It's garbage for sure.

One of the few things I HATE in my Rubi. It never should have been added on to a 4WD vehicle. I will control my own throttle, thank you.

I have Tazers on all of mine. Is it like the ESS button where the Tazer remembers your setting? It’s embarrassing and dangerous limping through a 4 way stop like this.

Traction control is awesome if you're going down the road at 10 MPH or faster. But if your stopped in snow , ice , mud you're going nowhere unless you turn it off.

All that nanny shit is to try to make shitty drivers think they are good drivers. ABS is to cover up lack of finesse on the brakes. TC is for lack of finesse on the gas. ESP is for lack of finesse on steering.

It's all a function of traction. You need dedicated snow/ice tires if you want traction in the snow. Off road tires are not snow tires. My A02's are garbage in the snow. You need Bridgestone Bilzzaks or Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow if you want to get around.

On ABS? I respectully disagree. Tell that to the aircraft industry!
Finesse in a panic situation? I'd rather mash the brakes and let the ABS do its thing. In that same panic situation, trying to modulate your brakes will negate the benefits of ABS. I'd say a lot of motorcycle riders with an ABS front brake would agree.
Pretty well proven technology.

Loved having a set of snow tires on steelies for my sports cars. They were tanks in the snow until clearance became an issue.

Don’t mind slipping in the wranglers. I park my bike and JLR (part time 4H and mud tires) when it snows.

ABS… instructors had us brake hard and turn with ABS on and off. We were quicker with ABS on and less sliding.

But a wrangler is kinda like a bike. I want to brake hard straight for fear of rolling / high siding.

Yeah, operating as designed. If the wheels are spinning, there is too much power being applied.

Don't forget sand too! I almost got stuck in deep Utah sand until i realized what was going on and killed the traction control. Terrible.

My partner's Subaru wagon was hit in an intersection during a snow storm due to the traction control not allowing movement in deep snow. It's a dangerous additive, worse than leaded gasoline
