I wonder if a momentary push button switch could be wired across the brake light switch, such that you could hold it depressed when backing up with the door open?
Not sure. It doesn’t take much pressure at all. I’ve tested it and the light pressure works up to about 10-12 mph. No need to test further. Be careful learning the pressure technique. It works and works well, but if you go to light you’ll definitely get a sudden stop.

Also, at a certain speed it shuts off auto park, but I’m not sure what it is. Meaning if you open a door at 25 you will get a door ajar signal, but not be slammed into park.

Thanks @BillG, I learned the brake technique from another post you made in the past. This is the best solution for me when I want to disable AutoPark.
Glad it helped you. It’s the easiest for me as well.

You should also be able to disable it by pulling the seatbelt connector and putting a jumper across the contacts. That will disable the seatbelt light and chime as well.

I put one of those cheap “seat belt chime killer” clips that get advertised all over on a string attached to the E brake handle. That way when I’m hanging half way out the Jeep trying to drive, I can grab that and plug it in. Easier than having to remember the seatbelt before I climb in.

Just get a seat belt extender. Like in this picture. Problem solved.

Just make sure you get one from a known quality source. It's not so far fetched that your life could literally depend on it. I tried to find some of these on the Mopar site, but didn't find them for our JLs.
