I just bought the Form sequential tail lights.
These lights have a tap into the turn signals, but rather than run wiring from rear to front, can’t I just tap into the factory tow wiring instead??

If so, anyone know what colors are for left and right indicators?

Thanks a lot

This is universal wiring colors. You can test at the connnector with a multimeter or test light to verify

You might try installing an inline 7 pin t harness adapter and tap into that rather than risk damaging your factory wiring only to find out it wont work.

Maybe try a jumper wire from the 7 pin connector to the sequential wire before tapping into any wires.

Just brainstorming and making wild ass guesses.

I wired some reverse lights into the plug on mine and it does work. Just keep in mind on initial startup the trailer harness is not immediately powered, it takes a couple seconds for it to cycle through and come on. After it is running all is good. X2 on getting a 7 pin t harness so you don’t cut into the factory wires.

Is that why my oracle reverse lights that I tapped into the trailer lights don’t come on with the reverse light from key fob sequence?

Yes, the trailer harness isn’t “on” until the Jeep goes through the startup self test.

Wow searching this morning and so happy to find a recent thread. Anyone know of a t-harness 7 pin for the Jeep? I swear I remember a Jeep JL specific one a while back, but cannot really find it today. I am going to be adding "whip lights" for parades, etc. and they can do blinker/brake/reverse lights too, and though tapping the 7 pin is the way to go.

Thanks for the help!

Amazon has some pretty good deals on them.

How much power will it allow you to draw? Thinking about doing this to add a couple lights to use as reverse lights since the led one in the brake housing is terrible. Maybe some KC C20’s?

I believe this is a related question:
Here is an adapter from Viair that can be used to power some of their compressors from the seven-pin trailer hitch connector. Viair says "Be sure to check your auxiliary power circuit rating to make sure it supports the max amp draw of the compressor you're using." Does somebody know the "power circuit rating" of the factory JL plug? (It does seem a cleaner way to go than using the battery terminal clamps.)
Thanks.

Fuse f111 is for the trailer backup lights and is a 20 amp fuse so use that as a guide as to what you can hook to that circuit.
