While installing the Fox ATS steering stabilizer I royally screwed up. I removed the stock bracket but while installing the new bracket I screwed up about the first 1/4” of cast threads on the axle that receives the 1/2” bolts. I think I need to tap to rethread. Instead of dropping the track bar I was in a hurry and started reinstall of bolts at an angle with my air rachet. Totally my bad. Would retapping be best? Just concerned about softness of metal on axle while trying to rethread. Your help would be appreciated!

I would try the same size tap as bolt first before you drill and tap, you might get them back, looks like only couple threads.
Thanks Roky. I went and got a tap and did exactly that. Appreciate your help as well as the other guys!
