Tail Light Side Lights will not go out

Hi Folks - I have a 2019 Wrangler Unlimited Sport (JL) that I have owned now for about four months. We took it to a business to have some paint chips cleaned up and, when picking it up, the business owner informed us that the side lights on the taillights were on and would not go out. I have tried endlessly to get them to shut off, including the headlight switch from AUTO to OFF, the dashboard dimmer rotary dial in every position, the rotary dial in between headlights and dash dimmer (what is this switch for, anyway?) in every position, and NONE of these have had any affect. Even tried changing both light controls within the U-Connect settings; NO JOY!
The odd thing is that these are small side lights on the tail light housings, NOT the tail lights! I found nothing in the manual.
