Hi,
I found a pair of used OEM JL tail lights for under $350 on eBay. They do not come with the mounting bracket. If I take out my halogen lights and use the existing mounting bracket, will they be plug and play or will I have to use a tazer to avoid problems.
Thanks

I think they should work. I can't remember if I had to swap brackets when I did it to my wife's JLUR.

The mounting bracket should swap right over.

As I recall, going from OEM halogen to OEM LED taillights requires using a Tazer or JSCAN to set the vehicle to LED.

I've seen some say no reflash is neccessary, and others say it is. Seems random.

I think if they are aftermarket lights, you don't need to. Factory LEDS probably need the correct setting.

It's not random. Factory/OEM LEDs typically need a flash.

Aftermarket headlights and taillights are meant to replace halogens and typically don't need a flash.

You do not need a reflash. Reuse the brackets off the halogen tail lights and put them on the OEM LED tail lights. We did this exact swap on my Wife's 21 JLU and they are plug and play. No issues at all.
