I was just wondering for those that keep their jeep outside and in hot sun, do you use a sun shield? Also anyone tint with ceramic tint their windshield. It's my understanding that ceramic tint at 70% is pretty much clear so it wouldn't look like it is tinted since it is basically illegal.

So with that if you use a sun shield any recommendations? There at a ton out there.

If you went the tint route what brand? How do you like it?

I have the clear ceramic film on my windshield and I use a sun shield any time my Jeep is parked out in the sun. Jeep is almost 6 years old and the dash still looks brand new.

Original windshield had Avery Dennison Shield IR 75 film. Replacement got XPEL Prime XR 70 film. My installer switched brands between installs. Both did/do what they are supposed to.

This is the sunshade I use - Amazon special. Works.

I don't use a sun shield, I live in sunny socal.
I have ceramic tint on the windshield.

The shop i got my tint, had a display demonstration, and ceramic blocked the most heat IMO.

I have a ceramic tint on my windshield. It's a llumar film. They had a few different shades to choose from. One of them looked almost clear but had a blueish tint to it. I went with step darker than that one. Don't remember the specs. But it keeps my interior cool without a sunshade.

51 years in the Phoenix sun, with our vehicles. Professionally installed 3M window tint film, Limo on the rear windows, and legal tint on the driver and the passenger side. Never anything on the windshield, for safety reasons. I do have a sunshade that unfolds under the windshield when parking outside.

I went with Ceramic Tint on mine. I have 5% all the way back. and 10% on both front windows.

One of the best thing Ive done on my Jeep. Specially with the Texas heat!

I believe the brand was LLumar.

Parked in the sun all summer here where temps consistently enter three digits. I use a folding sun shield made for the wrangler and save my money to use on performance mods.

I did limo on the hardtop, 13% on the driver / passenger and 70 on the windshield. All ceramic. If you live in a hot state like AZ I highly recommend tinting the front windshield.

If you put your hand for example near the windshield you won't feel the sun's rays. Wish I would of done it a long time ago.

Expel Prime is very effective. Have installed the clear (professionally) on a couple different vehicles including a large RV windshield. Actually was amazed at the heat reduction. I like to keep the windshield clear for best vision. I tinted the sides to match the hard top tint.

Bear in mind; you tint the windshield, the front and passenger sides; how visible is it at night? You hit a ped at an intersection, they'll come after you. That tint question will be up pretty quick.

Check out Llumar AIR80 ceramic tint film. It's optically clear, but cuts down on glare and solar energy in a big way. I've been running it on the windshields and factory dyed privacy glass of all my vehicles for about a decade now and wouldn't go without it under the Texas sun.

I'd be good with that. Note on that website they don't provide a "sample" of the windshield view. What do you think the cost would be on the windshield? The problem is when you need to replace it, and you will.

Wrangler windshields are cheap to do since they're small flat rectangles. I'd estimate $125-250, but it'll vary by installer, what else you have done at the same time, and how much business you've done with them (I always have it all done together as a package).

I have 80% ceramic on my windshield, no need for a screen. Looks dark due to the tint on doors, 35%, and soft top windows.
