Is it me, or are sun shades louder than not having one? I had the front panels off with all windows up and it reduced the buffering but now I’m getting a pretty sharp, high pitched wind effect on the freeway. I think it’s coming from the gap between the door and roll cage.

just curious if anyone else has had the same issue. Makes me feel like removing it.

Definitely feels like it’s quieter because wind isn’t buffeting me as much from the top.

We have the same problem with our gladiator and wind noise. Had a jeep wrangler with all the padding on the roll cage and loved the sunshade. Now on the gladiator it doesn't have the padding, and the gap between the doors (red lines on picture) and the roll cage is causing a huge problem concerning the wind noise. Also on the backside of the sunshade by the speakers. This sunshade is a 2 piece Alien. Was wondering if a one piece would help for the back problem, but don't know what to do about the door issue. Any suggestions??

I have the Shadeidea 1 piece on mine. Haven’t noticed any more noise than normal with the panels off. I don’t normally have the windows up with the panels off though.

YES!

I have the 2 door and it the wind/noise was beating me up. I'm usually topless/doorless all summer. No problem with my TJ, but the JL was kicking my ass.

I thought it had to do with the design of the JL's tub/windshield. Nope....it was the sunshade. I removed it and it's back to pleasant driving. It kind of funnels the wind right through the passenger compartment

I've got a 4 door but just have the alien shade over the front two seats. Almost 5yo and no noise issues and I'm almost always top down from spring through late fall.

Are your doors on? Do you drive it on the highways? We were going down the interstate at 80 mph with a 30 miles wind so that didn't help matters. But we never had any issues with our wrangler before, so really want to find a solution.

Doors on and driving highway with 70 or 75mph speed limits so slightly over the limit.

I have the 2 piece spiderweb sunshade and my perception is wind noise was reduced with the top off and windows up. With the top off and windows down I’m not sure it made a big difference.
