I just put wider rims/tires on my 4 door rubi, I don’t really like mud flaps and am wanting something to keep the sides and flares from getting chipped. I don’t want to mess with body mount bolts. Suggestions please, thanks

Check out this thread: “Opinions needed: Best frame mounted Rock Sliders that serve well for body protection and as a step?”

I have ACE rock rails (dreaded body bolts), but I had them installed for $100. I also have clear bra material covering my four hinges - full hinge in back, barrels only in front.

I don't know if you're gonna find steps or rails that won't mean fudging with body-mount bolts. I replaced the rock rails with Mopar side steps (it's a knee thing) and they offer some protection even with my offset wheels. I've dragged them along rocks a few times & they're still holding strong.

If your goal is protection from chips & scuffs, you may want to consider Line-X, or 3M vinyl or polyurethane film. > > > 3M film, 3M film 12 x 96

I went with the LOD destroyers and they have drastically cut down on the side spray and the family loves them as steps. My 11 year old helped me install them.

These look great but definitely pricy. Anyone know of any discount codes around I could use?
