I am really happy with the Rockford Fosgate punch p300-12. I ordered it and the Rockford install kit from Crutchfield.

I have a 2018 JLU with the factory speakers and 7 inch display. In the future, I’d like to upgrade all of my speakers, but since installing the Sub, I’ve now moved upgrading the factory speakers to the bottom of the list.
If you’re looking to increase bass I think you’d really be happy with the punch p300-12.
The punch p300-12 comes with a quick disconnect so the entire box can easily be removed from the back.
Lastly, one of the main reasons I went with this particular powered sub box is the price. For $350, I don’t have too much overall investment in the event it gets stolen while the top is down.
Please PM me if you have any questions.
Thanks for all the info, good to know about that sub! Pretty good price too, looks to be about $50 cheaper than the one I listed in my original post. Def something that is important for me!

$1k just to install a sub?? insane!

i got tired of dealing with stereo shops and my shit working on and off so i learned how to do it myself. i bought this book (the 1st edition way back in the day) and taught myself how to do it. turns out, i did a better job than a couple of high end stereo shops i took my car too. my shit always worked after i did it myself lol. and i was running 4 amps, a pair of 12s and components.

some "pro" shops are so bad they will switch to smaller gauge wiring behind the panels where the customer wont see them. when YOU run the wires and make the connections, YOU know how good they are and where potential issues may be. nothing worse than an amp or speaker randomly shutting down due to a loose connection somewhere in the vehicle. and murphys law, it doesnt happen when you take it to the shop.

Yes!! Said I could get a sub for like $200 minimum, but it'd be over 1k fortune with installation/labor fees.

Thanks for sending that over, that's a pretty good idea to read up on it! My sister's boyfriend has experience replacing entire stereo systems in multiple vehicles - including a couple Jeeps, so I think he's gunna do it for me. Buuut that book might be a good reference still!

thats how i learned bud. i had friends who knew how to do it but i got tired of always asking them to do this or that. so i learned and they helped along the way. and this was before internet forums were a thing, or at least that i knew of. install it with him, so you can learn. dont just "have him do it". unless he's willing to or you pay him.

that's also why i made my recommendations, to fit in your budget. hard to build a system for cheap unless you go cheap or used. once you get to adding in wiring, fuse/distribution blocks, rca cables, etc... though im sure amazon pricing helps these days. plus, since you have lease, you dont want to do anything too permanent or complex. you want to easily go back to stock.

also, keep in mind, jeeps are easy to break in to. so depending on where you live, etc... dont put too much $$ into it. insurance company will laugh if you try to claim $5k in stolen stereo....

for my purposes, i want as little footprint into the jeep as possible. space is precious in this vehicle and i want to be able to fold my seats down and fill the cargo area. im planning on putting a system into my crew cab truck i recently bought. subs, amps, the works (already have much of it in the garage). it has the space for it, and all hidden.

I remember someone selling a mount to allow a deeper subwoofer into the stock sub enclosure, but think he's not doing that anymore.
Sadly, I just sold my 10" kicker Q series L7. What a monster of a sub. Just don't have the space for it anymore.
It would make all the glass ripple haha!
