Hi,
Recently I've been hearing this metal on metal knock when turning out of parking lots. I can't seem to reproduce it intentionally but wanted to get some suggestions before it gets bad enough to really cause problems.

I saw a couple old JK posts about similar issues and people suggested it might be the track bar. I don't really know what I'm looking at honestly when I'm under there, but I think this is the rear track bar. If I grab hold of it on the passenger side and pull it forward and back I can see a small amount of movement where the red arrows in the picture are pointing. Between the nut and the rod itself. Maybe that's expected, but that was the only thing I could find that seemed strange.

I have a Metalcloak 2.5" lift so this was one of the parts from that kit, which was installed several years ago by an offroad shop.

Any ideas?

If you have movement there then it sounds like your jam nut wasn’t torqued properly. That would definitely cause you some noise I would guess. There should be some flats somewhere on the track bar that you can get a large crescent wrench on. That jam nut should have 2-300 ft/lbs of torque on it depending on the size. I’d start there and come back and report. I’d also use a paint pen to mark the bar and jam nut so you can easily see if it’s loosening up in the future. Properly torqued it should never move.
