So I went ahead and swapped the stock exhaust with the Dynomax straight exhaust pipe for for 2024 wrangler 4xe sahara. I like the sweet exhaust note when it switches from hybrid to gas, and I guess it gave me an extra 1 or 2 pony. I think I'm gonna keep it. It ain't that loud either as expected from a straight pipe.

Well to be fair he probably shed about 10lbs and there's no 'suitcase' now to slam on top of a rock. Plus aesthetically it just looks better imo.

Just know this is in no way straight piped, just a muffler delete. You still have a resonator and a cat.
With that, I could find it weird with the on and off of the engine, but if you like it, then it's for you.

Your new exhaust added 0 power.

Pros: louder
Cons: louder

I personally think buying a 4XE and then changing the exhaust defeats the purpose of buying a 4XE, but to each their own.
I dunno, I though the guy who hacked the EV pedestrian warning sound generator to make it sound like a Hellcat was pretty funny.

I agree that going for a different exhaust note in a hybrid vehicle is kind of silly. But I changed my exhaust for a different reason. I smashed my stock exhaust up on the Rubicon trail and needed to replace it, and didn't want to just replace it with another stock one to get smashed up again next season, so I got a high-tuck AFE exhaust. It does sound a tad bit throatier but it's not too bad, I like it. I wouldn't want to straight pipe it though, that seems like it would be way too loud, and not sound good since it's a 2.0 4 banger after all.

Still waiting for the day someone figures out which part on the motor creates the horrible 4 cyl noise. From trying to locate it with my ear I believe it’s mostly coming from the engine bay, somewhere in the intake path. Probably a single part we can insulate somewhere.

It's because it's direct injection. All DI motors sounds horrible at idle.

I’ve heard that repeated a lot, thats only a small part of it. DI is just a tapping noise. Pretty much every new car has DI. Even if it was, it’s still pretty much the loudest engine available in any new car that wasn’t specifically designed to be loud.

I don’t believe this to be true. Almost all vehicles are now direct injected, including many V8s. Many of them sound great.
Take this from someone who owns two different DI 4 cylinders and a DI 6 cylinder - they sound like shit. My QV Giulia sounds horrendous on cold starts.
