There may be information somewhere, but I haven’t found much.

I have a 24 Rubicon X and I am currently exploring upgrading the factory red rubicon shocks. Given the Rubicon X has a 1.5” lift over a Rubicon I am considering switching to a shock made for a 1.5” lift to get a touch more articulation.

I’ve added a 1/2” spacer all the way around. I used to have the MC 2.5” game changer, but removed it - too tall, and wasn’t a fan of the ride, handling, etc. the jeep still has the MC control arms, steering, diff skids, and 37’s (plan to go back to 35’s at some point-tires are not cheap).

Ride quality is subjective I know, and I like the factory ride. So the question is which 1.5” lift shock is most similar to the factory Rubicon shocks? Fox 2.0, Bilstein 5100, Falcon 2.1, other?

Would adding shock extensions make more sense? What are the pros and cons? Thanks in advance!

You're probably going to be looking for something that lists 2 - 4" lift, possibly 0 - 2". I would go with Fox, but haven't tried Falcon, have heard they are good.

I did try the 5100's on my JKU and hated them, too stiff and jarring.

I would avoid shock extensions.
