the stock Rubi wheel/tire combo....... how far inside the fender is this combo?

I am looking to buy a JLU this fall and I am already noodling on tires/wheels. I would like the my new tires to stay “inside” the fenders...... trying to see how much room (inches) there is to play with using the stock outside sidewall as the reference...........

Make sense? Any help? Thanks in advance.

Rubicon tire/wheel on a Rubicon? Why I ask is that the fenders are different on a Rubicon from other models. When going larger than the stock Rubicon 33"s, the wheel offset usually goes outboard to clear the inner side of the tire when turning or at full suspension articulation.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
17x8.5 +35 is about the most offset I've seen and will keep the tires close to the fender edge (but probably still just a bit outside them) depending how wide you go on tires. Stock is 7.5 +44, and if you plan to lift and retain full articulation you'll need to go less positive on the offsets. There's a lot of examples on the site of stock Rubicon wheels/tires installed on non-Rubicons for reference. It's a good look!

The edge of the tires are exactly flush, front and rear, with the front wheels pointed straight ahead.

These pics are of the rear, but the front is the same. Just difficult to demonstrate with a long level like this.

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you.

My OP wasn’t clear...... are you measuring these wheels/fenders on a rubicon?

Yup! Pic is measured with OEM wheels, tires, suspension, and fenders. Jeep is a 2-door Rubicon.

You will still throw some mud up on the doors, but it is not bad at all.
