I noticed on both my previous 2021 JLR and my current 2023 392XR that occasionally, not every time I turn it on, the steering wheel overheats to the point where it's uncomfortable holding it. Furthermore, during random maintenance on my older 2021, the mechanic was reading an actual error from the computer that the steering wheel was indeed overheating (I don't recall the error number, though). I didn't make much of it as I was about to trade in, but given that it's 2 for 2, happening on both of my recent JLs, I wonder if anyone else experienced it?

Do you turn it off once it’s warm or just leave the heater on indefinitely?
I leave it on, but that shouldn't make it occasionally feel overheated, because sometimes its normal heat for a long haul.

Never had such issue so far. The only thing is when I have the heated seat on the highest (3 indicators) setting, it'll become a bit too hot. Then I just use the second or only the first heat level.

Same for my Jeep GC summit. The heated steering wheel is just warm, never feels uncomfortable.
