Hey all;

New poster here (first post, let me know if anything about this needs to be changed/adjusted!). I've browsed through the forum, browser searches and a few other things, and although I've found related information, I've yet to find anything conclusive in my expansion and searches. Maybe I'm missing something, maybe it's labelled somewhere else and I'm blind, but I'm hoping to get some advice on the below situation.

About a year ago I bought a 2015 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited (used). As far as I know, it has the following specs to it that are applicable;
- 2-3" Lift (uncertain of any information related to this, including the exact lift height).
- Post-vehicle purchase Predator New Mutant X AT Tyres (285/65/R18s), which have around 1,000 km on them now, at most.

Bit of background. The vehicle came home with a bit of a wobble which was noticed only after purchase on the drive home. The wobble specifically appeared sporadically at speeds between 80 - 100km/h only. Slower and/or faster than this and it wouldn't occur.

This got progressively worse in the months that followed, to the point where it was taken into the shop and had a steering stabilizer replaced, numerous inspections and checks, and eventually new tyres (above) placed on it. The wobble disappeared after the new tyres were installed.

It's driven beautifully for almost a year now, but has recently developed a small shake in the wheel at speeds between 80-90km/h. This is nowhere near the wobble it had previously, and at most is just a barely perceivable shake that could even be written off as bad roads. My only significant concern is that it disappears entirely the moment I hit 100km/h, even if the road is still a bit rougher.

The tyres were recently rotated, but no alignment or balancing was done. I've noticed no pull on the vehicle (outside of the normal pull and sway from roads that are entirely FUBAR'd and uneven), and aside from this small shake it drives perfectly fine still.

My main question/thought is, would balancing of tyres resolve this in any way, or would I be wasting my time? Is it an entirely separate issue, or are there any other ideas about things to check?

For reference, my own mechanical skills are 'I can change a lightbulb and oil, and can do basic fixes with good guidance', so I'm essentially looking to take some information to a dealer to cross off hours of extension, unimportant work through my own lack of knowledge in explaining things.

Thanks in advance for any and all help;

Is the steering wheel vibrating up and down at a fast rate or does the steering feel like it is trying to do left and right motions?

If the vibration is up and down it could be a wheel balance issue. If the vibration is during speeds 35-50 MPH and very smooth above 60 MPH it could also be a driveshaft issue.

Lifting the vehicle will change the driveshaft and pinion angles. The driveshafts angles should be less than 2 degrees difference than the pinion angles.

The left and right motions in the steering wheel may relate to a steering and suspension and alignment issues. You probably will need at least 6 degrees of positive caster. Also, you need to make sure that the axles are recentered after Lifting the vehicle. If you don't have adjustable Bars and arms, you will need them if you want to get it right.
