It's been about 16 months since I put 37s on my JLR but I rarely drive it and currently live in SWFL where it's really flat so I had not re-geared yet until recently. Had 5.13 gears put in (have a 6 speed manual) and the shop mentioned my steering was pretty sloppy and said I will want to look into replacing some of the steering components. They quoted me for a Currie Steering Kit and Synergy Ball joints. It will take me a couple of months to reach the 500 mile break in of the new Revolution 5.13 gears and will have to take it back in for a fluid change and gear inspection and was thinking about having them do the steering upgrades at the same time.

As for my question - I have a 2.5" MetalCloak game changer lift so I was leaning towards having the shop installing the https://metalcloak.com/jl-wrangler-ball-joint-set-upgrade-kit.html & https://metalcloak.com/jl-wrangler-jt-gladiator-hd-rocksport-steering-system-rubicon-edition.html components. I would imagine sticking with Metalcloak for all suspension and steering would be a good idea but wanted to get others opinions. I have also seen CavFab 2.5 Ton JL / JT Bolt On Steering Kit: https://cavfab.com/products/2-5-ton-steering-system-jl-jt-jlu-bolt-on

If you've done similar upgrades what did you go with and if you had to do it again would you stick with the same components?

I just did the baller joints and synergy steel knuckles and both pieces are very nice and would do again.

I have the Rock Krawler steering on order just waiting on the stabilizer bracket to come in stock again for it all to ship. Have the tie rod already and its beefy as hell and the tie rods are massive.

Few people will have more than one steering setup to gauge differences, that said I have the @CavFab_mfg steering paired with a Fox ATS through shaft and Dynatrac balljoints. I would do this combo again without hesitation and have recommended the same to friends.

Cavfab is also a great company to work with and makes outstanding products. Have their Diff Covers and Tire Carrier and both are top notch you cant go wrong with their stuff.

I'm running the apex chassis aluminum steering with factory iron knuckles with dynatrac ball joints. I've been extremely happy with this setup and has handled everything Ive thrown at it from overlanding, towing our off-road trailer, to rock crawling in moab and sand hollow.

I have the CavFab 2.5 system. It's pretty beefy. I've taken some chunks out of the tierod bashing it on rocks and it hasn't bent.

The only negative I've found is it's not super easy to adjust. It's not easy to both pull the locking nut down and the tube up at the same time to lock in place. Would be easier to do with a second person but if it's just you it's tricky. You also need to buy some seriously big wrenches. I now have 2 giant wrenches I keep in the Jeep if for some reason I hit something and have to adjust my wheel back to center.

If I end up getting Rubi axles I'd most likely pay to get the longer tierod tube and swap it out with the Sport tube I have to be able to keep the CavFab system.
