Here’s my update. I tried an ARB satin black pen and the AEV text black noted in the link above. Both have more sheen than I like and don’t really match well. I think the Rustoleum noted above is a much better match. It’s be nice if Mopar offered a product for this.

A lot of guys use this.. Coat/spray something else first to assure you like the color/appearance. This stuff is not expensive, easily found at Walmart, etc., very easy to apply and to touch-up. Apply multiple light coats. Let each coat dry for a few minutes before application of the next coat. Also great for Rubi rails, Sliders, etc..

This is what I used to touch up a few small imperfections in the finish of my steel bumpers. It works great.

I have a small scratch on my bumper as well. Did you guys sand the scratch down first or did you just apply it over the scratch? Thanks for the help!

for those following this thread...i bought a steel bumper that had some scratches. i did sand it down a little...but i don't think it made a difference to be honest. if its a deep scratch...it will be hardly...hardly noticeable after you paint it with the rustoleum bed liner.

anway...there are 2 different bed liners pictured in this thread..one with a blue circle...one with black. i bought both but ended up using the blue one. if your not anal...spot spraying will be fine. i ended up painting the whole bumper lightly with one can and several light coats. it actually looks like a deeper black and has a rougher texture than the original coating on the steel bumper. its not a big job. i forgot to cover up the plastic inserts inside the side extensions...so i accidentally sprayed part of one...so i did what every man would do and took the "i meant to do that" approach and painted both inserts as well. it actually looks really good in the black of the bumper...as opposed to a matt black/charcoal grey.

anyway...hope this helps.

I found upol ecoat spray Aerosol. Blends in amazingly. Just used it on a stinger bar with the steel rubi bumper and you can’t tell a difference at all.

Ok, so I went ahead and bought the Rustoleum Truck spray and if I were you guys, I would go ahead and purchase that stuff and apply it to your bumpers.

I added a couple light coats because I was in a hurry, still got to wet sand it to even out the texture, but it looks pretty darn close. I didn’t even really mask off the area (I was going to buy new parts anyways).

Attached some pics with it still kind of wet. I’m a novice at spray painting so if I can do this, y’all can too.

Hi how did you manage to do this? My bumper also got scratched and i bought the same Rust-Oleum and applied..however the color difference is so much evident. Can you share some tips how you did it.

Are there any updates on this? For those that touched it up, did you mask it off or repaint the entire bumper?

I tried to fix some scuffs yesterday with rustoleum semi-glass black spray paint and I have to say that I'm not a fan. It looks too glossy for the bumper and it's not textured. I think I may try to sand it off and redo it with the bedliner spray.

Try Rustoleum "Bedliner Spray" as mentioned earlier in this thread. You can buy it at Walmart.
You'll have better results with that...

As for whether to touch up or do the whole steel bumper... depends on extent of paint damage on the bumper.

With the Bedliner Spray, you can even spray into a plastic dish/cap and then use a sponge brush or wherever to apply neatly where needed... (IF the scuff/scratch is deep, do multiple light coats)
