Start Button Wiring Harness Butchery

After removing some interior panels, I discovered a crude DIY kill switch the previous owner proudly hacked into the factory start button wiring harness. I cut out all the garbage and patched together the harness the best I could. I see there's a member on here that makes a kill switch harness that plugs into the factory connectors. My situation is a bit more involved. can anyone on here help out with a pigtail or harness patch to get this mess straightened

out?

WOW, that is frikkin UGLY! Agreed with @sprinter and I would replace the whole harness section if possible, if not solder in (with heatshrink tubing) a junkyard harness so that solder joints are not right next to or at the plugs.

How has your Jeep not caught on fire??? Holy cow, like the others have said, I'd source an original pigtail if possible, otherwise if you can't find one, there are aftermarket pigtails on certain shopping sites that with a little electrical knowledge will get you back to looking like you're not a fire hazard.

A new pigtail is what I'm trying to source. I know maestro5531 builds harnesses that include the factory style connectors. I've sent a DM but haven't heard back yet. If anyone on here has a source for the factory style connectors or pigtails, please let me know. I need to get this fixed ASAP.

If the button end is still intact you could install a Deutsch connector on the cut ends.

I have done about 30 of them and that is an absolute mess. Christ, its a switch on ONE wire. Lol.

*Update*
I was able to source a repair harness and plug for the START button. It wasn't cheap, but they got it to me very quickly. I sent them a few photos of the connector, and they matched it up perfectly. As suggested by several members, I installed a Deutsch connector instead of splicing in with butt crimp connectors. Always a risk buying a used vehicle, just glad I found this before it left us stranded
