Im using the evo diesel 2.5 springs, so I guess close to 3.5in if we are comparing to a non diesel.
I’m on 3.5” RK springs and they do hit the frame at full stuff.......

When you have a lot of articulation the spring perches get out of alignment with each other when compressed, the spring has to bow. Unless you have long arms then the axle stays centered in the wheel well during articulation.

OCD insisted I put some fuzzy side Velcro where it hits, it deadens the blow a bit, but that’s just how it is inside my head.....

Same issue after installing 2.5” springs. My passenger side spring was making a binding sound and turns out it was rubbing on the frame. The upper isolator needs to be spun 180 degrees, and redrill the hole for the little peg to fit in. After I did that the spring sat about an inch from the frame- problem solved. Hope this helps. 🍻
