So I bout a set of Rubicon takeoffs springs and shocks. My question is, how do I know which spring goes where. Which one is front drivers, front passenger, RD, RP? Are the springs marked/tagged or something. They haven't arrived yet.
They were tagged with the part numbers when they left the manufacturer. Whether those tags are still present when you bought them used from someone else... Who knows.
Hmmmm, that's helpful but its only telling me spring height. It doesn't tell me the spring order front driver, front passenger, etc. The reason I'm asking is because I want to idiot prof it for the installers. I definitely don't want them putting the wrong spring on the wrong corner with some sort of "a spring is a spring mentality."
Front to back is very obvious because the lengths are quite a bit different. Shocks are the same side to side but springs likely aren't. If the springs have numbers then the bigger number goes on the passenger side. If the springs dont have numbers then measure them- one might be a fraction of an inch longer, put it on the right. And likely the springs have a lot of numbers so match up the numbers that are the right format. Someone had this combination of springs:
front: 3590 Left 3591 Right
rear: 3659 Left 3660 Right
