Boy I sure thought this was going to be a thread about something else.

Old guys in boats in Italy or something.

My JL has gone wonky over the last 3 weeks. Everything was fine and then bam, my needle speedometer is all over the place from 1mph high to 10mph high.

Every time I start driving, turn off the engine, get out and do my errands, and then restart it, it will climb 1 mph, every cycle.

It then randomly resets and starts all over again. I cannot trust it, and always have to use the digital readout.

Also when the speedometer is acting up it will read that I am traveling anywhere between 1-10 mph while in park.

My JL Rubicon was built at the end of March, delivered April 15, and purchased the 16th by me. I had 800 miles on it when it started and now have about 1050 miles on it today.

I am also experiencing the loose steering, but I think I have one of the worst cases. My wife wont touch the Jeep as she is scared of the steering, and she drives a huge vehicle (2017 Expedition) just fine. My steering is so bad that one of my cop friends told me he would have pulled me over as he thought i was drunk ans swaying within the lane.

My wheel is still clocked at 1130 even after an alignment.

I love it as it is a pretty nice vehicle, but these issues are making it pretty hard to live with.

That seems to be an issue with many JL's. My speedometer is intermittently inaccurate.

Not worth taking to the dealer because they'll probably tell us that the speedometer is just an estimate as to how fast we're driving.

The speedometer inaccuracies is a warranty issue.

If your steering wheel isn't centered after an alignment they did a crappy job. Make sure your tire air pressure is 35ish psi. The steering gear can be adjusted to remove excess play but be careful with it.

Hi wb880,

We regret to hear that you are experiencing concerns regarding your speedometer and steering. Have you brought this to the attention of your dealer? Please send us your VIN and mileage so that we can document this on your behalf as well as provide additional assistance while your vehicle is in service.

Adjust the sleeve on your DRAGLINK to center the steering wheel--

Two bolts, they were 15mm on my '08 JKUR, but you should have a full set of metric sockets anyway

Good luck

Maybe this question is best for its own thread, but are Sport/Sahara owners who are upgrading to the Rubicon rim/tire takeoffs having their speedometers recalibrated by the dealer since the tire diameter is different?

Took it in, they called FCA did something to the computer flash or reboot and its all good now.

Only other issue is a biazzare clicking noise when your turning seems to be coming from the front end somewhere...

Today I noticed that my electronic Speedo is way off. SHowed that I was going 90mph when I was really travelling 60.

I took the below photo at a slower speed. My actual speed was ~25mph which matches the analog. WIll be making an appointment to take it in.... only 426miles on the odo.

Not sure if you noticed, but your digital reading is in kilometers per hour.
