don’t know if many people knew, but in the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL sport there are 8 speakers! They sound really bad from the factory so I replaced them all. 2- dash 3.5” top, 2 on bottom kick panels 4” and above the seats 2-3.5” and 2-4”, but now stereo sounds awesome. Replaced them with kicker speakers and added two 8” subs under seats. Self powered with amp.

What brand and model speakers did you use? I see the subs are kickers but, what about the others?

Were these the base or alpine speakers?

Could you provide model numbers of the speakers used?

You didn’t amplify the speakers?

Was the drivers side knee speaker hard to get to?

I replaced my 3 inch speakers in the dash with the Dodge Dart kicker speakers and it definitely is more detailed and crispy.

I replaced the factory which were not alpine with all kicker speakers

I had to remove the side pieces on the dash for the knee speakers, but were easy to do. I did add an amplifier to the speakers as well, see below:
Speakers:
Kicker DSC 350 x 2-dash and above the head
Kicker 44KSC404 x 2 - knee and above the head
Kicker 11H58 x 2 -150watt powered 8" subwoofers
Kicker DXA500.1 ( 43DXA5001) amp

I did the same... replaced the in-dash speakers with Mopar's # 77KICK25AB, and also up in the sound bar. Sounds much better, and good enough for me.

Thanks for that info.

So no four channel amp for the dash or overhead speakers, just the subs....

I mounted a 8 inch JL Audio sub to the tailgate with z channel to save some cargo space and can be slid off with tailgate open. ( harder with doors locked)

That kicker 4 inch comes with a tweeter, seems like overkill to have a 3 inch with a two way tweeter and a four inch with a two way... But maybe not.

I bought another set of the Dart 3 inch kicker upgrade speakers for the rear soundbar and am pretty disappointed that I really can't tell the difference. Installing them in the front was a big increase in treble pop/ stereo imaging etc. But in the rear you can only hear the tweeter if you stick your head under it in the back seat...

First World Problems!

Happy New Year!

They look to be mounted to the trunk lid. Looks like a 2 door. There isn’t room to under seat mount front or rear.

No. you would need extensive fab work. Likely not worth it.

I’m having my local radio shop fab me some 6 1/2 components for dash and sound bar this Friday. It will totally be worth it
