a Tazer would allow you to enable the Hood Alarm,..

Agree. But as you said, the less determined ones might move on to another car.
I will also install a Hood lock in the first week … (call me paranoid ?)

If youre ok spending money for placebo just stick with wheel locks, itll be the cheapest way to go and the least hassle when you need to change it on the side of the road. Any possible solution can and will be defeated quickly by a determined thief.
