What do you use: the Bolt (which seems convenient but not the prettiest solution) or regular McGuard locks nuts? It’s for our Jl 2024 Willys.

Maybe I am paranoid but want to make it a little bit more complicated to walk away with my 5th tire.

McGard 5-lock set. If a professional thief really wants it, he'll take it, but the extra deterrent may send the amateur opportunistic thieves down the road to the next best target.

I just learnt my dealer puts them on as standard (for new cars). How nice of them!

Wheel locks only slow down a thief and possibly make them move on to the next vehicle. A determined thief will have that wheel lock off in less than a minute. Oversize socket and a big ass hammer to get the socket on the lock then a wrench to remove it

Yup, a determined thief will get it.
One option is to take it off and leave it at home. Put it back on for trail rides.

Agree. But as you said, the less determined ones might move on to another car.
I will also install a Hood lock in the first week … (call me paranoid ?)

I've the McGard on the spare, if only because the package included 5 and I didn't want to lose the extra locking nut. The design features a captive spinning collar, which makes it a bit harder for a socket to gain the necessary purchase.

Yep...and the customer will be charged a C-note, or more, for what the dealer purchased for $20 at wholesale.

As opposed to the junk factory ones with large protruding heads that could easily be latched onto with hefty vice grips in a moment…. quietly

I also found them on my 2024. Not sure if the dealer did it or Jeep.

I used to own a 2013 JKUR. I had the spare tire stolen off the back of it when I was parked in downtown Phoenix. This was back in 2013 or 2014. Once I bought the new rim and tire, I put McGard's on it and also this spare tire lock - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000ATZD5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Once I got my 2024, I bought a new set of McGard's and put that locking cable on the new wheel. Good look getting that thing off easily.

Can you send me what that cable looks like? Where did you buy it?

I bought it from Amazon. The link in my earlier reply should work. Below is a photo of the spare on my Rubicon X.
