I think I already know the answer to this question, I just installed the rubicon steel rear bumper on my Willys, I have 33’s and the spare rubs when closing the gate, the rubicons must have a different factory spare tire carrier that sits higher? I temporarily removed the plastic piece so the gate would close, it only looks bad when gate is open, 😆

You can also temporarily take some PSI out of the spare until you figure out your final solution. I had the same issue with 34’s on my Sahara. Dropping the PSI did the trick until I swapped carriers.

can I see a photo with the tail gate open? I found one sort of local to me and was thinking of removing the plastic piece. I have a rubicon and 35's.
