i think both....mine sits in a garage with wifi and seems to only update when driving but i really am not sure.Do the updates downloaded via satellite or WIFI or both? Mine is connected to the home WIFI and sits in the garage about 35 ft away from there the modem/router are located inside the house.
Would you suggest setting up a WIFI hotspot using the phone?
Curious what issues you have been having? I have a '25 as well and my "Sync with GPS Time" is always 1 hr ahead. I reached out via a case with Jeep they had me do a soft reset (no luck) and then a factory reset (no luck as well) then mentioned Ill have to visit a dealer...I've been having weird issues with the head unit ever since I got it. I would consider them more software bugs than hardware issues. Was excited to see that there may be an update.
I checked the VIN checker and it said that my radio was up to date. Even though I'm at MY24.U33.43. I've heard that using this tool may be a way for it to kickstart an update.

Good Luck!
Because it's not... For now at least. My dealership told me there was "a glitch" and it was pulled back. They just said to keep wifi connected and eventually one will push out again.I had an appointment with the local Jeep dealer this morning. They suggested that I get the "latest" updated software version installed on the radio head since I was having issues updating the maps.
Dropped it off at 8:00 AM, got a text at 8:10 that it was done. The tech and the service mgr were waiting when I walked back in. I said "that must have been simple". The tech said that I already had the latest update and that his system was only showing MY24.U33.43-PROD.
Odd that MY24.U37.23-PROD wasn't an available option.
That's hilarious. My issue is also with time.Curious what issues you have been having? I have a '25 as well and my "Sync with GPS Time" is always 1 hr ahead. Crazy, yea I think its a TomTom software update but I have looked and havent found anywhere to grab new map files. That's hilarious. My issue is also with time.
When I'm near the time zone lines, it seems like the jeep's area of adjustment is anybody's guess. On my 2021, as soon as I hit the time zone change line the jeep's clock changed. Over on my 2025, it will maybe change 20 minutes before I hit the line, or maybe it won't change at all until I restart the jeep.
I've done a factory radio reset and no fix. While I haven't taken it to the Jeep dealer, I know their answer will be "well, we can't do anything because it's working fine now". And I'm not going to have them drive the jeep 2 hours to experience this. I also don't want them replacing things because something else ALWAYS get damaged or screwed up.
I'm glad to hear another person having this issue. And it tells me that it's something out of my hands to control.
