I’m trying to figure out what are the difference between the factory softtop if you were to order the dual top option, I’m assuming that’s the premium softop? I’ve seen so many different part numbers for mopar softtop don’t really know what is what and which is a better option as a secondary summer top, I know besttop also has their own stuff, if anyone could chime in with some info or suggestions I’d appreciate the input, I’m only looking to use the softop for just the summer months just so I don’t have to remove and reinstall the hardtop during the summer, thanks in advance

The only difference is material - regular top is sailcloth, premium is twill fabric.

Dual top option gives you the premium soft top. The Wrangler soft tops are designed by Bestop.

Thanks, I’ve seen that the twill top has a lifetime warranty on it, would you happen to know if they make it without the tinted windows since I’m in New Jersey and they are picky AF when they see tinted cars around my area to pull over ???

Could not say honestly - mine came sailcloth with clear windows, then I reskinned to twill with tinted. If you're getting options you should be able to pick between tinted or clear though

You don't know your local tint laws very well.

Factory privacy glass or tinted windows on the rear windows of a vehicle are not subject to tickets or you being pulled over.

Adding tint to the front driver and passenger windows, or windshield is what can get you a ticker or pulled over.

The percent of visible light allowed through your car windows is called VLT: Visible Light Transmission. The percentage of light allowed through your film and glass in New Jersey is very specific and different for sedan cars and SUV cars or vans.

Tint darkness for sedans:
Windshield: No tint is allowed on the windshield.
Front Side windows: No tint can be applied legally to this window.
Back Side windows: Any darkness can be applied.
Rear Window: Any darkness can be applied.

Tint darkness for SUV and vans:
Windshield: No tint is allowed on the windshield.
Front Side windows: No tint can be applied legally to this window.
Back Side windows: Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window: Any darkness can be used.

No you don’t know the cops in my area very well! If they see a tinted windows vehicle regardless if it’s just rear windows they are immediately associating you to a drug dealer or possible buyer lol ? so I don’t want to deal with the constant looks and random pulling over simply cause of that ?‍♂

Police cannot simply pull you over for factory tint or installed tint on the rear windows. Tinted rear windows are not a stoppable cause. If your driver and passenger (or windshield) are tinted, that is a different story.

New York is very much the same as NJ in terms of tint laws. Cops here won't usually bother you for tinted windows, unless you commit another infraction.

In my area tint on a car is like a cop magnet, they will follow or look at you like you're some sort of escaped convict ???

The Dual Top option means your Wrangler will be delivered with the hard top installed, and with the [boxed] soft top sitting inside the vehicle.

Bestop actually manufactures the OEM soft tops, in addition to selling their own branded line of convertible top products for the Wrangler.

---------------------

I empathize with your decision regarding tinted window panels, even those behind the driver/passenger that would otherwise be 100% legal. Years ago, I got dinged $80 for tinting that I thought was legal, but objectively wasn't. Live and learn.
