I do the same when I change mine out for the winter months (not doing it yet though). Clean, treat with Mopar stuff and clean windows with Mopar to help limit swirls, etc.

If you're interested in a stronger restorative product for micro-swirls and such on soft top windows, consider the Novus kit. I discovered the brand in the mid-90s when I purchased a new YJ. It's still around, all these years later, because it works quite well when used according to the directions.

Wow... great answer. Thank you, and the devil in in the details; so I see your self ascribed rambling as super helpful.

Any reccos on a good brand of microfiber towel? I swear the ones I have leave more lint (or what appears to be lint) behind than a regular towel. I don't wash them with anything other than a mild all clear soap and never use a fabric softener.

Yea I’ve had issues with leaving lint behind on some surfaces with them. I’ve used decent golf style towels too. A Terry cloth weave is almost as good as micro fiber.
Also consider cloth baby diaper rags. You can find them on Amazon. They are usually smaller. The same size or slightly larger than a wash rag. I use them to clean my sunglasses. Never left a scratch on them. My glass rayban prescription sunglasses or my Oakley sunglasses. So I’m sure they will work great on soft top windows. Never have a lint issue with them.
