I took mine to the dealership yesterday to have the stains on my windows looked at. I got a call today that Jeep is replacing all three soft top windows.
Hi ND249,

We are happy to hear that you are working with your dealer to resolve this concern. Please feel free to send us a private message if additional assistance is needed while your vehicle is in service.

So, I looked and couldn't find any information specific for JLs.
Went to the car wash and told them specifically not to use any wax just soap and water last Wednesday, Saturday night I noticed there were some streaks going vertical almost like "drip marks".
So far I've tried warm water and dish soap and multi-surface pledge. They're still there and driving me crazy. How do I get rid of them? Anyone have any luck with PlastiX?

I'll post a picture tomorrow when its light out.
Hi Matt, We have the same PROBLEM. We traded our 2017 Jeep Wrangler in on the new 2018 JL and Love the new transmission. We picked up our New 2018 JL Jeep on Memorial weekend when it was crazy busy at the dealership. We have never ran or would consider running our soft top Jeep through a car wash and we always washed our 2017 Jeep by hand. Unfortunately when we took delivery late that day, the deal did run it through their car wash for a quick detail because it was late and I am guessing they wanted to make sure the deal stuck by having us drive it off the lot!
We pulled the jeep in our garage and unfortunately because it was late we did not dry it (the next day my Husband detailed it by hand and noticed the streaks on all three windows). Tuesday we took the jeep back and showed the service tech the issue and since our salesperson wasn't there we also showed the issue to the person that sold us our second life time warranty! so we made sure two sets of eyes saw the issue. Our salesperson is awesome and is trying his best to help us, however I am sure the Sales Manager was the driver behind not wanting to replace our windows and keep a satisfied customer, they even indicated that we did it and not them. Which by the way didn't sit well with me. (It was obvious it had to do with running it through the car wash and we assumed it was the dealerships soap they used but after reading the forums it appears that it is a manufacturer defect). One of the other salesmen did use a solvent which helped but you can still see the streaks.
The dealership is contacting the manufacturer and they did provide us with an "I Owe You" for the replacement windows" stay tuned! I attached a picture. It is hard to get a good picture but in person it is awful. Others posted don't worry about it,your windows will get messed up anyway, I disagree for one it is a brand new JEEP and two it is all in how you take care of your vehicles !!! Hope this helps.

I figured the streaks were from the rail car or sitting for 2 weeks in a lot waiting transport to the dealer. My windows were replaced by the dealer. I know in another thread someone mentioned the Novus 3 step cleaner but it did not work. Also make sure to pull your spare and check the tailgate. My streaks continued down onto the paint behind the spare. It did clean up but I wouldn't want it sitting on the tailgate long term.

I picked up my JL tonight and it had vertical stains on all 3 soft windows (like something dripping from the roof). Dealer said their detail guy could not get them out. I think he was expecting me to accept that but needless to say they are ordering new windows.

That is EXACTLY what my window streaks looked like. perhaps it wasn't an issue with cleaning but a defect from the factory or from sitting on a railcar?
Please let me know if you get any feedback from JEEP

So glad I found this thread. I too have this problem. I have tried cleaning both the inside and outside of the windows to get it off, and it almost seems like its part of the material... maybe the dyeing of the fabric or tinting the windows themselves. I have thought about taking it to the dealer, but until someone gets a good answer I will wait. I can try to post a picture later.

I too have this problem. Is there any process I should follow to have it looked at?

Thanks!

I too have the soft top windows streak problem that was there since I bought the Jeep last month. At first I figured it was dirty but cannot get the streaks removed. I want to cal the dealership to report but I expect they will say I did it. Any other recommendations before I call dealership?

Hello,

Whenever you're ready to get it inspected, just send us a direct message with your VIN. We can go ahead and get a case started and escalate to a Case Specialist who'll work with the dealer on your behalf.

I, as many others have here, bought my jeep out of state ( about 3 hours away in my case ). Would any resolutions come from a local dealer or would we have to talk to the dealer that sold us the Jeep?

I am curious as to the outcome of this issue. I bought the dual top package, installed my premium soft top and the windows were fine. Several days later it rained and my windows became streaked as in the pictures. Is this due to some type of protectorant put on the premium top prior to shipping?

Are their any updates to this window streaking problem? I don’t want to get new windows and have this happen again. Any info would be appreciated.

With the help of Jeep cares, I had my side windows replaced at the dealer. The dealer had to take pictures, submit proof, new windows came in about a week later, replaced and done. Warranty work. New windows don't have the streaking in them, it you have the problem, its not on the surface, its like its part of the window itself. New windows are just fine, no issues at all.

I thought they were going to do the back window too, but there was no issues there, I swear I saw some, but upon pickup it looked fine. Magic I guess. :)

I have used Plexus for years on my boat and it's the best ever. Spray a little on a micro fiber rag and apply on plastic with straight lines and wipe off

Mine were streaked when I bought it but I didn't notice until a few days later. Tysons Koons Jeep had no problem replacing the streaked windows.
