So I recently purchased a used mopar soft top. While assembling it one thing led to another and the passenger side rear lifting mechanism is toast. It needs to be replaced and I think this is the part:
My question is if any of you know how I go about installing this and reattaching the release mechanism cable?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those can be a pain if never done it. Some velcro or straps help a lot. Top in folded back position tie it up some way. As for part replacement is it just bent? I accidently bent mine once and was able to straighten it out.

Unfortunately mine is all in the mechanism. The rods aren’t bent.

I'm guessing that this isn't a common replacement haha

Disassembly of that was part of my soft top fabric swap last year. I remember that area being a little tricky, just because the metal was all sandwiched together in such a way. But it's pretty straightforward, take pictures before you take it apart and mirror that when putting it back together. I think it's no more than four bolts.

Thanks so much, any tips or pics of your swap?

Sorry, I got through typing all that and thought, "...should've just linked my thread!" Here you go , and if you have any other issues on it ping me and I can take better pictures of how it comes apart later tonight if needed.

My guess is that part isn't meant to be end user serviceable. I never worked from that end when I swapped the skin on my top - the soft top frame has been on mine since install in Toledo three years ago. Could try to pop it out with a plastic pry tool maybe?

ya. I was prying it gently and had no luck. I ended up taking the old broken mechanism apart and was able to pinch it with pliers from the inside. There was a lot of tension in the frozen light arm mechanism so it blew apart like a bomb. If anyone tries these please wear safety glasses and maybe put a cloth over the mechanism when u pop it apart.
